Wicked Knee
Wicked Knee is a musical group, compiled by Billy Martin - drummer of the famous trio Medeski, Martin & Wood. Music band is energetic mix of jazz, brass bands neworleasnkých music, hip hop or jungle. Their whole style called himself Billy Martin as "ragtime funk". The music is very original and funny and full of surprises.
In addition to Bill Martin of the band has excellent players the New York downtown scene, namely trumpeter Steven Bernstein of Sex Mob band, trombonist Curtis Fowlkese, who was a member of the group Lounge Lizards, Jazz Passengers and collaborated with Bill Frisell, Charlie Hunter, John Zorn, Marc Ribot or Sheryl Crow. The entire quartet adds phenomenal tuba player Marcus Rojas, who has recorded with such musical personalities pop like Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, Sting, Dr. John, Aretha Franklin, and worked in jazz bands Lester Bowie's Brass Fantasy, Charlie Haden's Liberation Music Orchestra, the Art Ensemble of Chicago, Jazz at Lincoln Center Wynton Marsalis.
