Wayne Hussey
Wayne Hussey is a British musician from the dark-wave environment. He gained worldwide fame as a guitarist of The Sisters of Mercy and as a frontman of the band founded by him The Mission. In 1981 he was contacted by Pete Burns, who wanted to sign him as a guitarist for his band Dead or Alive. Hussey accepted and then moved to London. After the release of the EP Nowhere to Nowhere Hussey also began to compose the songs, writing the single Misty Circles alone. After the first success in charts tensions developed between Hussey and Burns, because they did not agree about the future journey of the band. Hussey disagreed with plans to make music more poppy and left the band in early 1984. A short time later he joined The Sisters of Mercy. Again he did not only play the guitar but also acted as a songwriter. Hussey significantly shaped the band's music and wrote well over half of the songs on their debut album First and Last and Always. Even during the tour through North America, it came to a dispute between the band members and the frontman Andrew Eldritch, whereupon the group in November 1985 temporarily dissolve. A few months later Hussey and Craig Adams formed the band The Mission, which still exists today. His first solo album Bare was released in 2009. In 2014 he released his second solo album Songs of Candlelight and Razorblades.
