Tusks
Tusks is the project of Emily Underhill, a singer-songwriter associated with the One Little Independent label, which has released alternative music icons such as Björk, Chumbawumba and Sinéad O'Connor. OLI, however, is a label with strong dreampop roots. It was here that the influential A.R. Kane project, which coined the term, made its debut. Early in her career, Tusks was compared to the likes of Explosions in the Sky and Sigur Rós, and received a very warm reception on UK radio. By the second album, on which the artist reached for heavier grunge and shoegaze inspirations, comparisons to Wolf Alice, among others, emerged. With CJ Mirra, she recorded the soundtrack to the 2021 horror film Marked. Her songs have also been featured in the TV series Thirteen Reasons.
