Tony Malaby Tubacello Quartet

Quartet avant-garde saxophonist, who instead of the usual piano or bass, uses sound tube (Dan Peck) and cello (Christopher Hoffman). The overall sound adds a great drummer John Hollenbeck. The music of this group captures well the current direction of the downtown New York jazz scene - mix freejazzu, alternative, hip hop and other influences. Forty-eight Tony Malaba belongs to the elite of the New York scene for over twenty years and has worked with many major orchestras - such as Charlie Haden's Liberation Orchestra, Paul Motian's Electric Bebop Band or Fred Hersch Quintet.
