The Yawpers
The Yawpers is an American three-piece rock and roll band from Denver, Colorado. Their name is derived from a Walt Whitman poem, entitled Song of Myself: I sound my barbaric yawp over the roofs of the world. The band plays stripped-down rock and roll, accompanied by overdriven acoustic guitars and a trap kit. The Yawpers have created a sound that is equal parts frenetic, earnest, and menacing, all while bringing together disparate pieces of the American musical lexicon.
