The Magnettes comes from the Swedish town of Pajala, which has 2000 inhabitants and is located right on the border with Finland. The band consists of Rebecka Digervall, Sanna Kalla and Tomas Backlund. They say of themselves that they play "XXI century fuck pop". They like everything strange and ugly, and in their lyrics they say what they think. In 2015 they played at SXSW in Austin and signed a contract with DigSin, which released their debut album Ugly Youth in 2017. They have performed at festivals such as Eurosonic Noorderslag, Tallin Music Week, The Great Escape, Golden Melody and Summerfest. The single Young and wild was very well received in Sweden and was one of the ten most frequently played songs on the Swedish radio.
