Tati au Miel

Tati au Miel is a DJ, producer, composer, and designer born in Haiti and raised in Montreal. She works in various fields of art, including experimental sound pieces, sculptures, textiles, and ritual performances. Tati au Miel creates music based on her own visions, drawing inspiration from artists like Moor Mother, Crystallmess, Dreamcrusher, Merzbow, Keiji Haino, and Klein. She moves within the legacy of sonic iconoclasts such as Bobby Beethoven and Juliana Huxtable, breaking rules, destroying dance floors, and mesmerizing audiences – while paying homage to the communities that inspire her work. For Tati, the creative process is one of cacophony and catharsis. “Exorcism has an often negative connotation” – she explains – “I wanted to see it as a positive and spiritual rebirth”. She recently released the Carousel EP on Halcyon Veil, preceded by six self-releases. Her works have been showcased at festivals such as Mutek (Montreal), Sonic Arts (Amsterdam), Dweller (New York), and in galleries like Kurimanzutto (Mexico City), Auto Italia (London), and Human Resources (Los Angeles).
