Sstrom
Sstrom is the project of Hannes Stenström, once part of Swedish band Slagsmålsklubben, and one half of enigmatic techno duo SHXCXCHCXSH (SHX). Sstrom's output is explicitly immersive, relying on tense immediacy and spontaneity. The subtle 4x4 pulsations frame vivid narratives and rich layers of texture. Shxcxchcxsh are known for their textured and cinematic techno with a focus on the organic and warm material surface of sound, refined, harmonic soundscapes, and a sensuous approach to rhythm. Sstrom’s sound, however, is more explicitly rhythmic and raw – encompassing the more physical and improvisatory aspect of techno. But the atmospheric touch is retained here as well.
