Splitter Orchester
Founded in 2010, the Splitter Orchestra brings together the collective power of 24 internationally acclaimed composers and performers from Berlin, drawing inspiration from many genres, but focusing on contemporary and improvised music.
The Splitter Orchestra originates from the "real-time music" scene that emerged in Berlin in the mid-1990s - a locally rooted and globally networked experimental music scene and long-term platform for the exchange of artistic ideas. All members of the Splitter Orchestra are at the same time composers, performers and improvisers, covering a wide range of extended techniques on traditional, electronic and specially constructed/adapted instruments.
