Ruperts Kitchen Orchestra

Ruperts Kitchen Orchestra was founded in 1995 by guitarist Oliver Voges and drummer Andreas Raab. The name Ruperts Kitchen Orchestra is based on the name of the cartoon character Rupert drawn by Voges and the place where it was founded, a kitchen. In the early years, Andreas Raab was still playing bass, recording the drums as a playback on the compact cassettes that were common at the time and playing them on performances. Ruperts Kitchen Orchestra has independently produced six albums and has worked independently to date, since the band's philosophy and content of the music were previously not compatible with the well-known labels and record companies. Nevertheless, Rupert's Kitchen Orchestra was backing band of the poetry slam of the zdfKultur broadcasting station, played at the Berlinale at the request of Dieter Koslick and has already traveled to numerous international festivals. Rupert's Kitchen Orchestra is significantly involved in the artistic development of the Berlin institution Mauerpark.
