Roman Ślefarski
Roman Ślefarski is a Polish drummer, musician and actor. A graduate of Warsaw's Bednarska jazz school, where he trained under Czesław "Mały" Bartkowski (diploma in 2000). He studied at the Academy of Music in Katowice at the Jazz and Popular Music Department. His first artistic success was winning the individual prize New face of Polish jazz and the Grand Prix together with the band The Newest Trio (Marcin Urban - piano, Michał Jaros - bass, Roman Ślefarski - drums) at the festival Jazz nad Odrą '96 in Wrocław. He has performed with stars of the international jazz scene such as: Scott Hamilton, Mack Goldsbery, Reggie Moore, Michał Urbaniak, Charles Gayl, Burghard Kunkel, Ray Blue, Aga Zaryan, Doug Legacy, Tymon Tymański. Thanks to his passion for music and love of percussion, apart from jazz he is fluent in various music genres: pop, rock, punk, reggae, ska, folk, blues. This is evidenced by his collaboration with, among others: Kazik Staszewski, Jacek Lachowicz, Olga Jackowska and bands: Shannon, Pan Profeska, Kuśka Brothers, El Banda. As a session musician, he has taken part in the recording of over a dozen albums, as well as soundtracks for films and plays.
