Rashad Becker

Rashad Becker is a composer and musician residing in Berlin. His compositions are multi-level narratives inhabited by ensembles of sonic individuals, some of which are vain, others shy, some agitating, and others ready to surrender. There is often a tragic-comic accent, such as a cartoon version of something that could be a requiem from sleep (or equally well a fertility dance from another dimension). His latest work includes the Traditional Music Of Notional Species cycle published in two parts and a multipart work entitled _Based On A True Story, which draws its scores from historical events in this context in the form of a "sonic staging".
