Piotr Chęcki
A student of the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk in Professor Maciej Sikała's saxophone class. A scholarship holder and winner of many awards, both in classical and jazz music, in competitions in Poland and abroad. He took part in music workshops conducted by jazz world celebrities, such as: Seamus Blake, Clarence Penn, Kurt Rosenwinkle, Krzysztof Urbański, Leszek Żądlo. He played at such festivals as: Jazz Jantar, Komeda Jazz Festival (support before Eddie Henderson), Bydgoszcz Jazz Festival, Big Band Festival in New Tomyuel, Sopot Jazz Festival, Sopot Frindge Festival. When asked about musical inspirations, he mentions Ambrose Akinmusire, Walter Smith III, Gilad Hekselman and Will Vinson, among others.
