Peter Machajdík & Zbyněk Prokop
The electronic soundscapes of duo Peter Machajdík & Zbyněk Prokop are rooted in free improvisation and mirror the artists’ momentary feelings. Their performances often rely on ‘raw’ and ‘rough’ sounds, reflecting on ordinary situations in cities, nature, or at home. Through these, they try to evoke and maintain an authentic sonic atmosphere. Artist Zbyněk Prokop is a member of the legendary multimedia formation Transmusic Comp. and a co-founder of Global Endemit. Together with Juraj Bartusz, he overlooked the founding of the Faculty of Arts in Košice, where he currently lectures in the Studio of Graphic and Experimental Art. Composer Peter Machajdík has produced an oeuvre encompassing instrumental work, vocal and sound- art projects. They are characterised by an unforced musical language redefining certain forms of contemporary and historical music. Machajdík’s work has been interpreted by the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra in Ostrava, Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Cluster ensemble, Quasars Ensemble, and many others. He has also collaborated with former frontman of YES Jon Anderson, David Moss, Jon Rose, Malcolm Golstein, and numerous dancers, choreographers, artists and filmmakers. Alongside Milan Adamčiak and Michal Murin he formed the stable core of Transmusic Comp.
