Finest Friday: Jay Daniel + Kyle Hall + More

Finest Friday, curated by Lakuti and Tama Sumo, is a quarterly party series that has established itself as a place of warmth and tasteful house sounds. In June they have invited two guests who are not newcomers anymore and who have made themselves a name as renewers of the motor city house sound.

Kyle Hall played his first gig at Panorama Bar in 2010. At the time, he had not only released through Omar-S's FXHE label, but also through imprints like Hyperdub and Moods & Grooves. Nevertheless, Kyle Hall presented his abilities as never before with two excellent albums on his own imprint, Wild Oats. Grown up between techno and house records, Kyle Hall is at the forefront of a new Detroit generation.

The same can be said about Jay Daniel: In 2016 he already played for Tama and Lakuti, today he has become one of the brightest stars of Detroit. One reason for that might be also his mother, Naomi Daniel, the voice of Planet-E classics like Stars and Feel The Fire. Jay has also released through Theo Parrish's Sound Signature and Funkieven's Apron Records, one album through Technicolor and just recently, in March, the Tala longplayer on his own imprint Watusi High.
