Pan Daijing

Pan Daijing is a Berlin-based artist and composer. Her performance-based practice explores ways of telling stories through sound, movement, the built environment and the moving image. Drawing on music's ability to transcend language, her work communicates sonic, physical and psychological depth, seeking means of communication that transcend the human condition. Her compositional method is based on extensive improvisation with analog synthesizers and the human voice, as well as deconstruction of instruments and field recordings. Exploring the realms of psychoacoustics and opera, she uses both recording techniques and live performance to expand the listening experience and challenge understandings of music as an art form. Her work is often created in dialogue with architectural space, pressing the boundaries between forms to create enveloping, sensory experiences that audiences can enter and inhabit.
