Oliwood

Oliver Steidle is currently one of the rising up jazz drummers. His band Oliwood plays film music that extremely unique. They play a wide range of genres thoughout music history and still without retro sound. The musicians explore and cross genre boundaries. Or maybe it would be better to say that they play without limits, imaginatively, with new twists and turns. A piece can begin with calm melodic passages and explode in the next moment into wild and free improvisations. Exciting avant-garde jazz with a whole lot of ideas blended together. And despite some wildness, there are always melodic elements.
