Muzeum na Majdanku

The State Museum at Majdanek is a martyrdom museum founded in 1944 at the former Nazi KL Lublin concentration camp. Is an institution reporting directly to the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The museum conducts exhibition, educational and scientific activities. Since 2004, the non-branch department of the State Museum at Majdanek is the Museum - Memorial Site in Bełżec, and since 2012 - the Museum of the Former Death Camp in Sobibór. The museum is organized on part of the former camp (approx. 90 ha). Among the most important of its monuments is the partly preserved farm part, III field of the prisoner camp, bathhouse buildings with gas chambers, buildings of the new and old crematorium. The memorial site also includes the Monument to Struggle and Martyrdom at Majdanek complex by Wiktor Tołkin. The camp archives and museum collections are particularly rich. A permanent main exhibition is installed at the Museum and temporary exhibitions are organized.
