Museum Knoblauchhaus

The "Museum im Knoblauchhaus" is dedicated to the Berlin life during the Biedermeier era. The former residence of the wealthy entrepreneurial family Knoblauch is one of the few completely preserved Berlin town houses of the 18th century. A collection of different objects and documents give an insight about the life of this important Berlin family in the faithfully reconstructed rooms. At the same time, the exhibition presents other interesting aspects about the architecture, economy, culture and social life of the Biedermeier era, a tranquil epoch between the end of the Napoleonic Wars in 1815 and the March revolution in 1848.
