Monsters of Liedermaching
Fred, Burger, Tottovic, Pensen, Labörnski and Rüdi – a band without a hierarchy. Thus, the Monsters of Liedermaching are quite a fascination of the German-speaking world of rock. But actually everything is very simple: The six gentlemen got to know each other as solo artists at numerous songwriting festivals and appreciated each other very much. More and more short tours were organized. At that time they played one after another, as it just belongs to festivals.
Then – in the summer of 2003 at the Hamburg Rock Spectacle - came the spontaneous decision to simply put three beer benches on the stage and play together. The consequence was spontaneous excitement on both sides of the stage. The conclusion: The Monsters of Liedermaching are a band. Because together they are more than the sum of the individual parts. Logical, right?
Whether it is about salami facial skin care or door fetishists, telling stories of superheroes or eternal losers, lanterns being licked or muses kissed. There are no limits in the cosmos of the monsters. It may be pogoed, gawped and whimpered. Sometimes funny, sometimes seroius. The incompatibility of delicate ballad and bizarre sing-along evergreen is lifted and the monster magic can unfold.
