Molesta Ewenement

Hip-Hop, Rap | Molesta Ewenement is a hip-hop music band, one of the precursors of street rap in Poland. It was founded in 1995 in Warsaw on the initiative of rappers Piotr "Vieniu" Więcławski and Paweł "Włodi" Włodkowski under the name Mistic Molesta. Soon afterwards the line-up was completed by rapper Marek "Kaczy" Andrasik. The band made its debut in 1998 under the name of Molesta with the album entitled Skandal. The recordings brought the group immediate, national popularity, partly due to the success of the singles Armagedon and Wiedziałem że tak będzie. After 1998 Andrasik left the band. As a duo, the band recorded an album entitled Ewenement (1999). In 2000, the band's third album entitled Taka płyta... was released, recorded with an extended line-up of rappers Tomasz "Pelson" Szczepanek and Robert "Wilku" Darkowski, who occasionally worked with the band in previous years. Both releases were nominated for the Polish phonographic industry award Fryderyk. After a period of work on other projects, the quartet's fourth album Nigdy nie mów nigdy was released in 2006, signed as Molesta Ewenement.

In 2007 Darkowski left Molesta for Hemp Gru. The other musicians continued to work as a trio. A year later, the band's fifth studio album, Molesta i kumple was released, with many guests. After 2008 the group focused on stage performances, which were documented by the albums Live! in Fonobar (2009) and Live in Warsaw 2012. At the same time Więcławski took up a solo career, while Szczepanek and Włodkowski in cooperation with Leszek "Eldo" Każmierczak formed the band Parias.

In 1999-2005 members of Molesta Ewenement led a subdivision of the music label Pomaton EMI – Baza Lebel. In 2006, the band formed the Respect Records outbuilding on their own. Apart from such bands as Kaliber 44, Slums Attack or Nagły Atak Welder Molesta Ewenement, with over 130 thousand sold records, they are one of the most popular hip-hop bands in Poland. In 2016 the band broke up and work on the new album was stopped. On October 2, a documentary film Skandal. Ewenement Molesty was released, directed by Bartosz Paduch and distributed by Best Film.
