Meier und die Geier

A young man with an idea to start a band. But without instruments. He asks a few school friends and they are in. They meet, rehearse and want to perform. But music without instruments is not wanted in the early 1980s. Nothing works without Vocoder, Synthi and shoulder pads. So the four guys go out into Spitalerstraße and sing there.

There they get discovered by a music producer. He is enthusiastic about the absence of both the instruments and the shoulder pads. He produces a record with them which will be a success. The boys appear in the hit parade with Dieter Thomas Heck, win the Goldene Eins and find it all very amusing. But soon they have to realize that there is an abyss between fun and the reality of the music business.

The boys decide to have fun, grow up, break up and go their own ways. After a few years, the not-so-young man has a new idea: to keep going. With a new name, new record and old fun.
