Matija
Matija are an alternative pop band from Munich, Germany. With their debut album *Are We an Electric Generation Falling Apart? *, Released in October 2017 via Clouds Hill, the band named after their front man has garnered attention from the media and the indie and pop scene in Germany. They were the opening act for well-known acts such as The 1975, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Wanda and Kensington (partly under their old name "The Capitols") and are traded as the newcomer tip by radio, press, TV, internet and the festivals. With their culturally diverse background, classical musical education and academic activities in baroque and contemporary music, the four young Munichers write their songs with their own, unmistakable signature and unique sound. The various artistic influences of the members lead to modern, contemporary indie pop, skilfully mixed with the vibes of the eighties, baroque recorder escapades, thick beats and progressive radio sounds. Their single The Calling (November 2018, Clouds Hill) combine hip-hop beats, floating synth clouds and guitars, an oppressive bass and the dreamy piano that carries the soft voice and emotional hooks of their singer.
