Her music is characterised by cool minimalism combined with suggestively dark atmosphere, while her favourite analog synths and drum machines are completed by unusual vocals. The Canadian’s feisty music juxtaposed with stage charisma earned her numerous festival invitations. Marie Davidson has been very successful both in her solo projects and collaborations with other artists, as proven by her marital project Essaie Pas. She’s published four solo albums. The last one, extremely well-received Working Class Woman, was released on Ninja Tune. Her live performances constitute true improvisations with the use of sequencers, synths and mics. The result is fiery energy and extraordinary concerts that never sound the same.
