Marcin Świątkiewicz

Marcin Świątkiewicz is a Katowice-based laureate of the 2016 Polityka's Passport Award, a harpsichordist and pedagogue, an excellent soloist who effectively disenchants the stereotypes associated with classical music. One of the most recognizable harpsichordists of the young generation, playing various types of historical keyboard instruments. He regularly collaborates with leading international and Polish early instrument ensembles, including the Brecon Baroque, Arte dei Suonatori and the Historical Orchestra, taking part in their recordings. Marcin Świątkiewicz composes, improvises, creates music as a living tissue, multi-layered and singing, naturally moving, allowing the listener to completely forget about the mechanics, with which the harpsichord is often associated.
