Maksymilian Kreft

Maximilian Kreft is a drummer of the young generation. He started to develop his ability to play on a drum kit at the age of 14 under the supervision of such drummers as Paweł Osicki, Grzegorz Sycz, Adam Golicki. At the age of 16 he began to perform with leading musicians of the Tricity jazz scene. At the age of seventeen, he received an individual award at the Jazz nad Odrą Festival with Marcin Janek Extradition Quintet, with whom he also won third place. With the same ensemble they were awarded during the "Ogólnopolski przegląd młodych zespołów jazzowych i bluesowych" in Gdynia. Participant of the New York Jazz Masters workshops with Aaron Goldberg, Dena Derose, Miguel Zenon, Luques Curtis, Ali Jackson, Mike Moreno. He has performed at Sopot Molo Jazz Festival, Vertigo Summer Jazz Festival, Jazz in the Forest, Jazz nad Odrą, Sopot Jazz Festival. He moves freely in various music styles. He finds himself best in jazz fusion and modern jazz. Currently, he is involved in bands: Marcin Janek Extradition Quintet, Gdynia Improvisers Orchestra, Marta Szefke Groove Band, Tribute to Frank Sinatra, Adam Skorczewski Quintet, Blues Connetctions, Rama111, Forest Animals and as a session musician. He took part in the recording of the compilation Gdynia 1988-2018.
