Maciej Tubis
Łódź jazz pianist Maciej Tubis cites Arvo Pärt, minimalism and ECM-style jazz as his greatest inspiration. Tubis graduated with honours from the Łódź Academy of Music in Professor Beata Cywińska's piano class; he was regarded a promising classical pianist, but this did not prevent him from developing his interest in jazz. Since 2004, he has been leading a trio with bassist Marcin Lamch and drummer Przemek Pacan, with whom he has released three albums, reviewed by the likes of Village Voice and the UK's Jazzwise. In 2022, he released the album Komeda: Reflections, consisting of Krzysztof Komeda tracks arranged for solo – sometimes prepared – piano and analog synth.
