M.A.U. Club
The M.A.U. Club is a former dance club in Blücherstraße in Rostock. In 1996, the M.A.U. activists, in cooperation with Kulturnetzwerk e.V., moved into Halle 603 at Warnowufer 56 in the city harbor, which had been specially converted into a concert hall. One year later, the association Zabrik e.V., which today runs the house, was founded.
The association's goal is to promote youth and socio-cultural diversity in Rostock with a clear focus on live music. For this purpose, the so-called project workshop is attached to the operation of the Jugendkulturhaus 603. This in turn is supported by the Office for Culture, Preservation of Monuments and Museums of the Hanseatic and University City of Rostock.
The club in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern stands for a culturally open, tolerant and urban Rostock and was nominated in 2013 as one of the three best German clubs for the PRG Live Entertainment Award. In 2018, the club was awarded the APPLAUS 2018 music prize for the culturally outstanding program from the previous year 2017.
