Matthias & Maxime

Matthias and Maxime have been inseparable friends since childhood. But when they are asked to kiss in front of the camera during the filming of a student film, everything suddenly changes. A seemingly unbreakable bond is clouded by doubt – what feelings do they really have for each other? The years pass and their paths diverge, but at the age of thirty they both have to make a decision that will fundamentally affect their future. In his eighth film, Xavier Dolan once again explores the themes of friendship, family relationships and love to deliver an intimate portrait of two fumbling men, in which one tries to suppress his nature and the other tries to live authentically.
