Lena Romul

Lena Romul has been composing and producing music since 2008. She has recorded 3 solo albums and dozens as an accompanist, producer and chorus girl. She plays the saxophone, violin, keyboards, bass guitar, ukulele and drums. She sings. Creates electronic music under the pseudonym DJ Little Zebra. He runs a music collective Slavic Jazz Undeground, combining Slavic music with contemporary pop music, rated by reviewers as a revolutionary music project (Wyborcza, Polskie Radio, Polityka, TOKFM). She often cooperates artistically. She has concert and studio collaboration with Wojtek Pilichowski, Pablopavo, Majka Jeżowska, Kamil Bednarek, Tabu. She created the musical setting for the 2016 NIKE Literary Award gala broadcast live on TVN24. She has recorded albums nominated for the Fryderyk award.

At the age of 19, she was the only woman in history to win the main prize at the Jazz Juniors International Competition, being the leader and composer of works by the Lena Romul Quintet. She studied jazz music at the Academy of Music in Wrocław and at the Post Secondary School in Warsaw. She is a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Education. She created an online course teaching composition in the spirit of DIY "Music – Create Alone". Currently, she teaches music in primary classes and as part of individual lessons.

For her own art projects, she edits video, creates graphics and websites. In her free time she turns into a "Zebra Weaves Macramé" and teaches yoga individually (she has an instructor certificate). She is a co-founder of the "Melodia Yoga" project, which combines yoga practice with live music.
