Katarzyna Bienias

She began her musical education with piano lessons at the age of 8. She is a graduate of the State Primary and Secondary Music School in Łódź, which she completed under the direction of Professor Zbigniew Lasocki. She completed her studies at the F. Chopin University of Music in Warsaw with distinction in the class of classical vocal studies conducted by Jolanta Janucik. As an Erasmus scholarship holder she improved her vocal technique under the tutelage of outstanding singers and pedagogues from Italy, e.g. under Prof. Gabriella Munari and Elisabetta Andreani. She has participated in numerous vocal courses led by musicians and singers of great stature such as Ingrid Kremling, Christian Elssner and Bobby McFerrin. She is a laureate of the second prize at the international vocal competition in Legnago (Italy). She debuted on the stage of Warsaw Chamber Opera in the performance of L'amante di tutte by B. Galuppi.

She collaborates with many cultural institutions, such as: Teatr Polski in Warsaw, the National Philharmonic, Jan Kiepura's Operetta in Warsaw and the following ensembles: Il Tempo, La Tempesta, ProModern, Il Canto, Gradus ad Parnassum, Ars Nova, Filatura di Musica. She has repeatedly provided her voice for studio recordings for CDs (among others, Śpiewniki published by the Warsaw Uprising Museum) and films (Jan Paweł II. Szukałem Was, Bitwa Warszawska 1920, Papusza). She has recorded a CD with the songs of Maciej Małecki (piano part). She has worked as a tutor with actors from the National Theatre, the Central Artistic Basin and the Koło Theatre Studio. As a soloist she gives concerts in Poland and abroad. Her repertoire covers a wide range of works: from Renaissance to contemporary music.
