At its best, her music can be breathed in deeply; it could also be like a warm cuddly blanket, Lilou tells us. "One that can't conjure up balance, but gives support and something familiar." Lilou studied composition, she makes edgy indie pop that she calls bedroom pop - because her song ideas and parts of the recordings were made in the bedroom, surrounded by Persian rugs and a beautiful big tree outside the window that softened the daylight. She delivers catchy melodies, minimalistically orchestrated, with alienated samples. The Cologne-based musician is a founding and board member of the non-profit association MusicNRWwomen. "The association is committed to making FLINTA visible, equal rights and networking in the music industry," Lilou explains. She acts as co-producer of her music, with a clear vision for the outcome.
