Leopard
Leopard was founded by the two singer-songwriters Lars Paprotta and Christian Dangel, who are friends and whose music is an expression of their striving for a self-determined life in an increasingly authoritarian capitalist reality. In doing so, they not only revolve around themselves, but also use their music again and again as a force for solidarity, for example in the form of a solidarity concert on the roof of a house opposite the Moabit prison – to the joy of the inmates, to the chagrin of the guards and the police – which the band played and combined with an appeal for donations for the victims of racist police violence.
Leopard fights its way through the irony-infested thicket of postmodern pop music with claws of catchy guitar riffs, a soft coat of melodies and bright eyes full of angry lyrics, showing what guitar music always was, is and will be: Threat, promise and liberation.
