Léonore Boulanger
Léonore Boulanger is originally from Paris, where she studied drama, jazz improvisation and Persian music. Initially involved in theatre, she took a turn towards music in 2009, when she made her debut with the album Contretemps; since the beginning of her career, she has constantly collaborated with musicians Jean-Daniel Botta and Laurent Sériès. In her work, which utilises lyricism in several languages and non-musical objects, one can hear the inspiration of African folk music and contemporary classical, especially composers such as George Crumb, Teiji Ito, Harry Partch and Meredith Monk.
