Las Lloronas
An unusual blend of acoustic melodies and rhythm is the strength of Las Lloronas, with which the women musically seduce audiences. Sura Solomon (Belgium/USA), Amber in 't Veld (Spain/Netherlands) and Marieke Werner (Germany) met many years ago and were brought together by a passion for sociology, activism and art, later transformed into music. The women's work reflects their experiences and backgrounds. The artists combine different musical traditions with slam to create intimate, multilingual feminist poetry. Accompanied by guitar, accordion, ukulele and clarinet, Las Lloronas compose a delightful polyphony of traditional Spanish music, klezmer, fado, blues and slam.
