WABE
Die WABE is the biggest municipal culture institution in the Berlin district Prenzlauer Berg. The multifunctional cultural event venue is a concert hall, scenic meeting place, cinema, space for cultural projects, rehearsal room, conference hall, and multicultural event venue. The programs extend from rock music to jazz and classical, from kids’ events to dances for seniors, from lectures to theatre plays or dance performances.
Die WABE collaborates with many partners, such as independent sponsors, associations, music agencies and of course, various artists from prenzlauer Berg, Berlin, Germany and all over the world.
The building is in the form of an octagon, and offers space for up to 400 visitors. It was built in 1986 on the site of the former IV. municipal gas works and is part of the culture center Kulturzentrum im Ernst-Thälmann-Park.
