Krisztián Palágyi
Krisztián Palágyi was born in 1991 as a son of a Hungarian family in Serbia. At the age of nine he received his first piano-accordion lessons, four years later he changed to the C-handle-button-accordion.
As a solist, Krisztián Palágyi has won twenty first prizes in total at national and international competitions. After completinghis Bachelor and Master in the subject Accordion, with E. A. Buchholz at the University of Music Cologne, section Wuppertal, he is currently a Master student of Prof. David Smeyers with the major of „Interpretation of New Music“ at the University of Music Cologne. As a member of the ensemble 20/21 under conduction of David Smeyers and as the official accordionist of the Young German Philharmony, he was active in countless concerts. Premieres and recordings followed within the frame of festivals like Viva Musica München, Acht Brücken Köln, Forum für Neue Musik Köln, Inselfestival and Best of NRW, and he has worked with the dancing company Pina Bausch as well as with Sascha Watz & Guests. With the duo Accordara, he is producing his first CD in 2018.
Krisztián Palágyi was/is a scholar of the Hartmut and Lore Foundation, the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now, the Werner Richard and Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation and the Dr. Werner Jackstädt Foundation.
