Kota The Friend is an American producer, songwriter, musician and rapper from Brooklyn, New York City. Already as a child he devoted himself to music, playing trumpet, piano and guitar. As a teenager, he became interested in soul and jazz, and finally in hip-hop.
Kota's main musical influences include Jay-Z, Nas, Kid Cudi, Bob Dylan and The Beatles. Just as complex is his own music, in which one hears just out of hip-hop and his passion for neo-soul or punk. Even his lyrics do not shy away from topics like depression, spirituality, addiction and hope.
Kota The Friend has released three EPs and a studio album: Palm Tree Liquor (2016), Paloma Beach (2017), Anything. (2018), and finally the full-length album FOTO (2019).
