Kosmos
Kosmos is a Lodz-based jazz quintet founded in 2020 by pianist Stanislaw Szmigiero, saxophonist Iwo Tylman and trumpeter Jan Ostalski. The line-up took its final shape two years later after the addition of double bassist Kamil Guźniczak and drummer Kacper Kuta. In the band's compositions, one can hear inspirations from Polish jazz and yass music, supplemented by electronic and hip-hop influences. Each of the band members has an eccentric character and different musical means of expression, one might even be tempted to say that this is a group of strange people. Despite the unknown reasons, the members of Kosmos successfully complement each other on stage and create an artistically coherent vision of the space around them. Kosmos officially debuted with the single I in June 2023.
