Justyna Młynarczyk
Justyna Młynarczyk was born in Katowice. Formerly a cellist, she is now a viola da gamba player, pedagogue and doctor of musical arts. Since 2013 she has been teaching viola da gamba and chamber music at the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź. She is a graduate of the Academy of Music in Katowice in Piotr Janosik's cello class and the Conservatoire de Musique in Grenoble (France) in Christine Plubeau's viola da gamba class and the Academy of Music in Kraków in Marcin Zalewski's viola da gamba class. She specialises in performing French music of the second half of the 17th century, as well as translations of 17th-century French treatises related to the viola da gamba. She collaborates with the composer Wojciech Stępień by consulting and premiering his works for gambas. Together with her husband Piotr, she forms the viol duo JKM ensemble. She enjoys coffee, old cottages and family trips to the forest.
