Jan Wagner

Jan Wagner is a pianist, producer and sound engineer. In his solo work he leans over the simplest forms of expression, whilst at the same time trying to render as much of the "emotionality" in his compositions as possible by revealing to the listener every possible aspect of piano music. Over the years Wagner has been mixing many recordings for the Berlin-based label Ostgut, associated with the Berlin Berghain club, which may explain his inclination for minimalism in music and his commitment to sound performance and directness. For over a decade he has been working at the legendary Faust Studio Scheer together with Hans Joachim Irmler.
