Jakub Hajdun

Jakub Hajdun is a Polish jazz pianist. Born in 1991, son of the legendary pianist and composer Janusz Hajdun, he graduated from the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, where he studied in the class of Bogdan Czapiewski and Włodzimierz Nahorny. He has participated several times in the Jazz Workshop of the American bebop guru Barry Harris in Italy. He won individual prizes at the 15th Mezinárodní Hudební Festival – Česká Kamenice 2014 and at the 20th All-Polish Review of Young Jazz and Blues Ensembles in Gdynia in 2017. For several years he was a member of Jan Konop's Big Band, with which he played at jazz festivals in Meer (the Netherlands), Česká Kamenice (Czech Republic), Sopot and Sulęczyn. Since 2017 he has been leading his own trio, with which he has performed, among others, at the International Jazz Pianists Festival in Kalisz (2017) and at the Sopot Molo Jazz Festival (2019). The album Jakub Hajdun Trio released in late 2020 is his recording debut.
