IX is Marnix Dorrestein, a musical omnivore who finds his inspiration in 60’s sunshine pop via 80’selectronics to modern hip hop. Even classical music and Afro-beat can be heard in his music. By the time all these influences are molded to songs, their origins are barely recognizable. IX sounds futuristic rather than nostalgic: you might call it electronic powerpop with a European stamp.
