Inner
Christian Ghiban aka Inner is a Romanian DJ and producer based in Berlin. He released his first tracks back in 2008, but it is in the past few years that he has established himself as one of the most intriguing propositions in the house and techno scene.
More than ten years ago Ghiban was, organising parties with friends in East Romania before taking to the decks himself, while equally experimenting with production. The name Inner first reached a wider audience in 2012 through the Equalia EP on Neostrictly. Moving to Berlin a year later, Ghiban established the Polen label as a vehicle for minimal house and techno. Amongst the artists that have featured on Polen to date are Shadee & S. Moreira and Louis McGuire, while there have been numerous label showcases at the legendary Club der Visionaere. However, Ghiban does not release his work on his own label only – his Danceamine EP, for instance, came out on Anthea’s Partisan label.
This diversity can also be found in his style: sometimes charting a steady, hypnotic course through heads-down, dubby house and techno and other times chopping playfully between 4/4, electro and broken beats.
