After nearly a decade of hosting DJ residencies and parties across the UK, India took the plunge to release their own music for the first time in 2019 and achieved instant success. By the end of the year, after three singles on Local Action Records and rowdy live performances at Boiler Room and Keep Hush, The Guardian named India one of the 50 Amazing Musicians to Watch in 2020 and Resident Advisor listed their track DN4 as one of the best of the decade.
In May 2020, India released For You - a six-track EP that is her biggest and most personal work to date and was almost unanimously praised as one of the best releases of the year. Inspired by growing up queer in the north of England, it documents India's understanding and learning about her own identity, while being kind to herself.
