Half Waif
Half Waif, the synth-pop project of Nandi Rose Plunkett, was born in a Brooklyn basement in 2011. Since then, Plunkett’s incisive songs have made maps of emotional borders—the delicate boundaries we alternately skirt and cross in navigating our relationships—and framed them inside glittering electronic landscapes. On Keep It Out, the first single from her upcoming album, Lavender, Plunkett examines her struggle to be an individual as well as a partner. “I’ll keep you out/So you never see me unraveling,” she sings, trying not to collapse into co-dependence.
