Grandson + support: Bob Vylan

Grandson, or Jordan Edward Benjamin, is an alternative artist from Toronto, Canada. Born in the small town of Englewood in New Jersey, he moved into the cultural melting pot of Toronto at a young age and grew up surrounded by a variety of music, including jazz, rock, rap, dancehall and R & B. When he attended high school, he started to play the guitar and the piano. At the age of 17, he attended the University of Montreal and started working in night clubs and writing his own music, which combined many of the musical influences of his youth. When his first attempts at music production and rap came so promisingly in 2013, he abruptly dropped out of academia and moved to Los Angeles to devote himself entirely to music. Here he put the stage name Grandson and began to distill his own high-energy sound from hard alternative rock in the style of Rage Against the Machine and current hip hop, rap and neo soul, which he further developed with a small group of like-minded musicians. Asked about today's music landscape, he says: “I am deeply convinced that today, more than ever, the world needs honest rock and roll.”
