Gérard Wyss
The pianist Gérard Wyss is in demand as a chamber music partner and an accompanist. A graduate of the Musical Academy in Basel, Switzerland, where he now himself teaches chamber music and interpretation of the Lieder repertoire, he has made many appearances in Europe, Canada, the USA, and Japan. Among the singers with whom he has performed regularly are Edith Mathis, Cecilia Bartoli, Nicolai Gedda, Wolfgang Holzmair, and Georg Nigel. In addition, he collaborates with a number of instrumentalists (the cellist Heinrich Schiff and the violinist Raphael Oleg). He has to his credit a remarkable number of recordings for the radio and for recording companies (Novalis, Philips).
