Flørist
Flørist is a producer, DJ and visual artist hailing from Vancouver, Canada, who is based in Berlin, Germany. Peppered inside his distinctive sound, he turns potential clichés like the “Yeah! Woo!” breaks on Marine Drive or the Show Me Love sample on Dvote into exciting new tones and rhythms.
Flørist debuted his atmospheric, jubilant rhythms in 2015 on the acclaimed Phenomena EP. During the past years he has honed his signature sound, releasing two more dance records featuring cheeky vocal samples, fluid synths and ecstatic percussion.
Flørist’s organic and optimistic approach also translates into his artwork and DJ sets, creating unexpected experiences through colorful collages of texture and sound. Before his move to Berlin a mainstay in the Vancouver scene as a DJ, producer and graphic designer, with numerous artwork credits and a release on Pacific Rhythm, Flørist has also worked with the Glasgow label All Caps and Washington D.C.-based label World Building.
Despite just a few releases, Flørist has been busy DJing internationally, where his creative sets meld deep house with folk, techno, trance, breakbeat, electro, experimental and beyond, for irresistible dance bliss.
