Janette has an incurable disease, She know she can’t conquer death but she would like to be in control of how and when she dies. Now she is preparing for assisted suicide in Switzerland. She watched her mother die from then-undiagnosed muscular dystrophy. Now Janette’s own 72-year-old body is weakening as the disease rapidly progresses. Unlike her mother, she has decided to leave the world with dignity, but the UK does not offer the option of a “good death” and to be euthanized she has to travel to Switzerland. With inner peace Janette organizes her departure while her loved ones go through an emotional storm – particularly her son, who also has MD. The relationship drama escalates as death comes closer. For his narrative, director Tomáš Krupa used stylized elements of fiction film that enhance the film’s authenticity.
